F. Richard Stephenson is currently a British Astronome posts some with the Université of Durham and specialized in the study of the astronomical documents of the era pre telescopic. He wrote many works on subjects relating to the historical supernovas, testimonys of observation of the sunspots, lunar eclipses and solar. He wrote several reference books on these subject and signed or cosigné more than one hundreds of articles in scientific magazines with Reading panel.
The Astéroïde (10979) Fristephenson is named in its honor.
