Toponymy

The toponym Féas appears in the forms Heaas (1343, homages of Béarn), Feaas (1385, censier of Béarn), Feeaz (1442, notaries of Oloron).

It means meadows with hay of the Gascon hiars composed of Latin fenum = hay and the vegetable suffix are.

History

In 1385, Féas counted 21 fires, and depended on the Bailliage of Oloron.
