Extranet
Use of the " Net " in which an organization structure the network to be inter-connected with its business partners or its recipients.
A network extranet is a network of the type Internet (thus primarily based on the protocol IP) whose list of safety is externalisée i.e. managed by an organization or an external entity with the users.
By opposition, for a network Intranet, the list of safety is managed in-house.
The list of safety is the whole of the data gathering the identifiers (name of user ( login ), IP address, addresses MAC, keys logical or physics) authorized to connect itself.
Data-processing network related to commercial , made up of the Intranet S of several Entreprise S which communicate between them, through the network Internet, by means of a protected Web server. By extension, more generally indicates the sites with protected access allowing a company to authorize its consultation only with certain categories of external speakers, its customer S or his Fournisseur S in general.
Example of network Extranet : The Automobile network European Network Exchange (ENX) intended to make safe the exchanges of information between automobile manufacturers and subcontractors in Europe.
It is supported by operators (example: Telefónica, DT, Orange Businesses Services) which ensure transport, the interconnections, guarantee the availability of a value minimum of the band-width and which minimizes the number of Routeur S.
