Extraction (linguistic)

A extraction is a process of emphase, like dislocation. It is about the framing of a component by it is… which or it is… which at the head or at the end of the sentence:

  • at the beginning of sentence:

It is Louis Jouvet which created the parts of Giraudoux (and not Bertold Brecht) ( which is here the pronoun which replaces the prone ) - They are the parts of Giraudoux which Louis Jouvet created (and not those of Molière) ( that is here the pronoun which replaces the complement or the attribute).

  • at the end of the sentence:

the parts of Giraudoux, it is Louis Jouvet which created them . - Louis Jouvet, they are the parts of Giraudoux which it created.
