The extase (of Latin ex- = outwards, and sto, stas, stare , to be held: to be apart from oneself) is a rather rare state where the individual, while being conscious and capable of memorizing, does not have any more any perception of itself, entire absorbed by one elsewhere (other, image, phantasm, divinity, etc).

Mystical Extase

The extase (mystical) can be obtained by spiritual way, by the application of disciplines Mystique S (these same techniques are found in the Chamanisme, in a state generally more primitive).

A mystical description of extase is given by St Paul:

I know a man as a Christ, who was, fourteen years ago, charmed to the third sky (if it were in its body I do not know, if it were out of its body I do not know, God knows it). And I know that this man (if it were in its body or without his body I do not know, God knows it) was removed in the paradise, and that he heard marvellous words which it is not allowed a man to express. (2Cor 12: 2-4)

Sexual Extase

The commonly accessible form is the sexual extase, which accompanies sometimes the Orgasme (but without being dependant there, one can be present without the other, and generally the organsme does not lead to a sexual extase), which sometimes made say that " sexuality is the mystic of the pauvre". The attack of a sexual extase can be improved by a suitable psychological work (to learn with " to release prise" at the time of the orgasm). Conversely, a mystical extase can be accompanied physiologically by an orgasm.

Extases artificial

Phenomena extatic can be observed following severe medicamentous intoxications, which can of this fact being volunteers (substances Psychédélique S, to see for example LSD, Hallucinogène, Psychotrope,…).

Contrary to the two preceding ones, these forms are dangerous for physical health, and practically always illegal.
