Explosiveness

The Explosibilité is the characteristic of an atmosphere which contains a flammable gas.

Difference between explosiveness and explosiveness

One says of a Atmosphère that it is explosive, when there is presence of a Gaz Inflammable.

This mixture is not inevitably explosive. Indeed, an atmosphere is explosive when the air mixture/flammable gas is lower, or higher, with the limit lower, or higher, of explosiveness of flammable gas concerned.

One says of an atmosphere that it is explosive, when the air mixture/flammable gas is in suitable proportion so that there is a reaction of violent oxidation. This proportion, where the concentration air/flammable gas is suitable, is to leave and between the limits lower and higher explosiveness flammable gas concerned.

  • lower Limit of explosiveness: limit in lower part of which the gas concentration in the air, is too weak so that there is a reaction of the mixture in the presence of an energy of activation.

  • higher Limit of explosiveness: limit with the top of which the gas concentration in the air, is too important so that there is a reaction of the mixture in the presence of an energy of activation.
