Expert Roger-Henri
Expert Roger-Henri , born on April 18th 1882 with Arcachon, died with Cérons (the Gironde) on April 13rd 1955, is a French architect.
Biography
Wire of trader, it follows studies to the council school of the Art schools of Bordeaux in painting as from 1903 then in architecture as from 1905. Thanks to a purse, it joined in 1906 the school of the Art schools of Paris successively in the workshops of Gustave Umbdenstock and Gaston Redon. It obtains its diploma for the occupation of architect in 1912 and obtains the same year the Second Large Prix of Rome. It returns in this school in 1922, as a teacher then foreman in 1934, and this until in 1953. There has as a pupil Jean Balladur, Claude Ferret,…
It joins his friend Edmond André Granet to create a cabinet which addresses to a rich person customers. In 1921, it is named Architecte of the civil Building industries and palates national. It is in load of the Manufacture of the Goblins and the Musée of Louvre. He is then architect as a chief of the Observatory and the the Pantheon.
In 1926, it draws the plans of five villas in Moulleau, on the basin of Arcachon, whose elegant lines precede the embassy from France to Belgrade (1928). It calls upon the sculptor Carlo Sarrabezolles for the decorative elements (the group Liberté - Equality - Fraternity ), as it did for the Town hall of Rheims, the Palais of Chaillot, or the installation of the steamer Normandy. Always impeccably vêtu, of an elegance very british , it always privileged the collaboration of his/her friends artists ( the band with Expert , often originating, like him, of the Bordeaux region).
One owes him luminous fairyhoods of the colonial Exposition of 1931, and the basins of the Jardin of Trocadéro in 1937. In 1939, it carries out with Pierre Patout the house of France to the World Fair of New York.
He is elected with the 1st armchair of the section structures (in the place of Auguste Perret) of the Académie of the Art schools in 1954.

- 1934: building of the Service of the general levelling of France Street Gay-Lussac in the 5th district of Paris
- 1937: fountains and basins of the Garden of Trocadéro in the 16th district of Paris
- 1937-1954: church Holy-Therese-in-the Child-Jesus of Metz (classified MH)
- 1937-1955: national center of technical education, current National university of Cachan (beginning of the project, completed by Andre Remondet)
- 1946-1949: interior decoration of the embassy of France with London
