Exonucléase
see also: Etymology of Exonucléase
The exonucléase is a Nucléase, a Enzyme which cut DNA or ARN starting from an end, a Nucléotide at the same time, and in a direction: 5 ' towards 3 ' or the reverse.
For example, the exonucléase III functions from end 3 ' (except if that Ci is protuberant). This enzyme catalyzes the sequential hydrolysis of nucleotides of a DNA doubles bit in direction 3 ' - >5'. It releases from the monodesoxynucléotides starting from end 3 ' of a DNA bicaténaire. It is inactive on DNA simple bit. It acts on DNA doubles bits obtained by frank cut with enzymes of restriction or on DNA bit doubles whose ends 3 ' (OH) are in withdrawal.
