Exfoliation

In Dermatology, the exfoliation (of the Latin desquamare , oyster seller) indicates the loss of the surface layers of the skin in the forms of small films called squames . The term of exfoliation is also used.
Exfoliation can come from infectious illness (Rougeole, Rubéole), from genetic diseases chronic S (Ichthyose) or from aggressions of the Peau (Sunstroke, Brûlure, acute irradiation).
Or exfoliation of the endometer (the uterine mucous membrane) in the menstrual cycle at the woman.
Exfoliation has also a geomorphological significance. It is a process related to the meteorisation defining the production of angular remains often resulting from the Gélifraction.
