Exèdre

The exèdre (of the Greek will exedra ) is in a building a room of conversation equipped with seats or benches. It generally follows a semicircular plan, which facilitates the contact between the interlocutors.

In the Basilica S Christian women, the exèdre is a semicircular stone bench at the bottom of the Abside.
