Evolutionary maintenance
An application can evolve/move, for example, following requests of users to modify his behavior or to propose new functions.
Evolutionary maintenance consists thus - to improve (even with redéveloper) of the existing functions of an application, - to develop new functionalities to face new requirements.
Adaptive maintenance is one of the four principal activities of maintenance of an application:
- the corrective Maintenance,
- the adaptive Maintenance,
- the evolutionary Maintenance.
See
- Maintenance for an introduction to the concept of maintenance,
- Third party maintenance Applicative for a presentation of the types of maintenance and their overlap in a maintenance contract.
