Everest forwarding

Expedition Everest is a Russian Montagne park with topic Disney' S Animal Kingdom located at the Walt Disney World Resort. Attraction opened the April 7th 2006 in the Asia section of the park. It acted as closure ceremony of the 50e birthday of Disneyland.

One of the characteristics of attraction is a meeting with the Yéti, a homage and a resurgence of the attraction Matterhorn Bobsleds of Disneyland, open in 1959. Another characteristic is a section traversed in opposite direction.

Technology

Expedition Everest is the first attraction to use the new system of rail of Vekoma. This system has rails located not inside the Traverse S but outside giving the impression to be a traditional railway system and not a Russian mountain. This system of Vékoma was already used but only for small Russian mountains intended for the children. In order to improve attraction the rails of the course are independent of the concrete structure of the mountain. The effects of vibrations are absorbed by the way and thus the concrete does not undergo any constraint.

Disney' S Animal Kingdom

Expedition Everest is, with its 66 m, more the high mountain artificial of Walt Disney World, joining Big Thunder Mountain, Mount Gushmore and Splash Mountain on the list of the mountains built by Disney. Its height is as for the Tour of the Terror reached a maximum with 199 feet (Anglo-Saxon measuring unit) because for 200 it would have been necessary to install a warning light for the air traffic. If the " montagne" of Forwarding Everest was real, it would be the fourth culminating point of the state of Florida to 106 m with the top of the sea level.

The topic of attraction is based on a forwarding in the high mountains of the the Himalayas. After having embarked in a train at the station of a small village of the high plateaus Tibetans, the rise of the mountains starts. A surmounted rock peak of a monastery is the next stage… after a long rise. A bridge launches out since the monastery towards an imposing mountain. Then the way penetrates in the tunnels of the solid mass. It is at high speed that the train springs in a dead end before setting out again with misconception. Another dead end makes it possible to set out again in the good sense and to leave the mountain but not for a long time. After some turns the train returns to the station.
