Evangelic Church in Germany

The Protestant Église of Germany ( Evangelische Kirche in Deutschland (EKD) , evangelic Church in Germany ) is the largest Christian organization not-catholic in Germany.

It is a community of 23 Churches Lutherans , reformed and plain , which is autonomous and regional. Its seat is in Hanover.

The EKD was founded in 1945, its current organization goes back to 1948. The organization of the life connected with the church Protestant is federal on all the plans.

The EKD deals with the common duties which are delegated to him by the Churches members. The colleges made up and elected officials democratically are: the Synod, the council, and the conference of Church. They assume the responsibility for the functions of the EKD fixed in its constitution, or decided by the base of the Church. The businesses of the synod, the council and the conference of Church are the task of the organization of the EKD.
