Evaluation in Training of adults

In the training area of the adults, the evaluation returns to the checking of the attack of the teaching objectives.

This checking confirms (or disabled person) that the awaited new capacities were actually acquired by formed at the conclusion of the meeting or the education act. Let us note that this checking concerns the responsibility for the trainer initially.

According to the moment of the evaluation (or its objective), following typology can be proposed:

- Evaluation-forecast : It has as a function to establish, starting from standardized tests, an estimate of the chances of success of a person in a later performance.

- Evaluation-diagnosis : Evaluation the purpose of which, carried out before an education act or a sequence of training, is to produce information making it possible to adjust the formation with the profile of formed.

- formative Evaluation : It allows the trainee, the course or at the end of a phase of training, to locate its progress, to identify its strong points, but also to include/understand its own difficulties and to cure it with full knowledge of the facts. The trainer must help with this comprehension and, if need be, propose the remédiations necessary.

- sommative Evaluation : Evaluation having for goal to sanction (positively or negatively) an activity of training in order to enter this result for a classification, of a selection, a certification or a validation.

Usually, the evaluation is known as " normative " when its result is compared with the results obtained by a group. It is known as " critériée " when its result is compared with a criterion.
