Europoort
Europoort (" Eurogate" , sometimes " Europort") is important a artificial port and a industrial Park which belong to the Port of Rotterdam to the Netherlands. It is on the island of Rozenburg.
Rotterdam developed during the centuries, to pass from the statute of small town to that of international port. During centuries spent, the quays were built throughout the banks of the Nouvelle Meuse, but towards the Années 1960, the place missed to build new surfaces of harbor handling. With the XXe century, the communications between the the North Sea and Rotterdam were difficult for the large ships, the port being on the Delta of the Meuse and the the Rhine, consisted of a whole of arm of small size. To improve this situation, the Nieuwe Waterweg, a channel of important size, was dug to directly connect the major courses of the Meuse and the Rhine to the sea. Nieuwe Waterweg was quickly dedicated to the port activity, and in particular its part located at the mouth on the North Sea. This one was baptized " Europoort".
