European party of the liberals, democrats and reformers
The Parti European the Liberals, Démocrates and Reforming (Left ELDR) is a non-profit-making international association of Belgian right financed partly by the the European Parliament. It gathers the political parties of Europe sharing the same liberal, democratic and reforming ideals and constitutes the forum in which its parties members develop together a concerted policy.
Party ELDR became a true European political party in 1993 and continuous since then developing in the face and importance on the European scene. It currently gathers 49 democratic liberal parties of the Member States of the European Union, including new members and south-east of Europe. Nearly a third of its parties are with the government in their country.
Its president it is appointed European Belgian Annemie Neyts.
Party ELDR has as members of the parties members, the affiliated parties and the individual members.
Party ELDR also has an youth organization the LYMEC, which gathers more than 170.000 young European liberals.
Representing a total of more than 20 million European voters, party ELDR wants to be to be a bond between the citizens and the institutions of the European Union; it is represented in the European Parliament (PE) by group ADLE.
Group ADLE
The group Alliance of the democrats and the liberals for Europe ( ADLE ) is formed of the members of the the European Parliament (MPE) pertaining to the parties members of party ELDR as well as new French, Italian and Lithuanian deputies European. Moreover, the European deputies independent who adherent with the liberal, democratic and reforming values and wish to contribute to promote them are also invited to join group ADLE.
Party ELDR and its parliamentary group give a mutual support and share a common approach in their political activities. Chaired by Graham Watson (Liberal Democrats - the United Kingdom), the group of party ELDR constitutes with its 90 members the 3rd political independent group in the European Parliament and exerts a determining influence in the decisions of the EP which exceeds its numerical force by far.
Pat Cox, former President of group ADLE and former President of the European Parliament is also one of the important personalities of the party.
Operating process of party ELDR
The work of party ELDR is based on triple structure:
It is directed from day to day by the office of the party ELDR whose members are directly elected by the Congress.

- Treasurer: Low Eenhoorn (Netherlands, VVD).
The President, the vice-presidents and the treasurer are elected every two years at the time of the Annual convention of the party ELDR, supreme decisional body of the party. The Congress brings together the delegates of all the parties members, the members of group ADLE, the police chiefs liberal and of the representatives of the LYMEC
Beyond the usual program of the Congress, this one milked of a political subject of topicality and offers to deputy forum for a debate of quality. Here the most recent topics of the Congress:

Between two meetings of the Congress, the Council ELDR is entitled to speak and act in the name of the Party. The Council meets twice a year and is consisted of the representatives of the parties members of party ELDR, European deputies ADLE and the European liberal police chiefs who can if they wish it to take part and speak with the meetings about the Council.
Its role primarily consists in approving the applications to join, to adopt the annual budget, the contributions, the reports/ratios of audit and on proposal of the Office, to appoint the General secretary of the ELDR whose task will be to assist the bodies of party ELDR.
Moreover the party organizes meetings of the Leaders and Ministers ELDR. Those at least twice a year take place the day before the meeting of the European Council and allow to the political leaders its parties members, liberal Prime Ministers, Foreign Ministers and Police chiefs, as with the other personalities which are connected to them and which attend the European Summit, to carry out an exchange of views on the subjects with the day order of the European Council.

One of the principal tasks of Party ELDR consists in writing every five years in preparation of the countryside for the European elections, electoral proclamation ELDR. This proclamation will form the base of the political work of the parliamentary group of Party ELDR.
