European free Alliance

The European free Alliance ( ALE - Democratic party of the people of Europe PDPE ) is an alliance of regionalistic and minority political parties in Europe (in English: European Free Alliance EFA ), traditionally allied with the Left Green European within the the European Parliament.

Foundation

The ALE , created in 1981, is a “ Association of co-operation joining together of the political parties which are distinguished from the diagrams of political thoughts traditional insofar as they put at the foreground an integral regionalism. ” (site EFA)

In 1994, it becomes officially a federation of parties.

It was constituted in European Political party, Friday March 26th 2004 with the “pavellò Mies Van Der Rohe” of Barcelona, with the signature of a constitutive declaration, signed by 25 parties members and 5 observant parties.

  • Jozsef Mihajlovics (Mihajlovics József) (Magyar Föderalista Párt - Hungarian federalistic party);
  • Jiri Novotny (Moravská demokratická strana) (Moravian Democratic party);
  • Eduard Riudavets (Left Socialista de Mallorca I Menorca - Entesa Nacionalista).

The assembly of ALE elected then the European Député, Nelly Maes (Spirit - Flanders), at the station of President E of ALE. The vice-presidents are: Free Piretta (Partito Sardo d' Azione - Sardinia), Begoña Lasagabaster (Eusko Alkartasuna - Pays Basque), Jill Evans (Plaid Cymru - Wales), Gustave Alirol (Left Occitan - Occitanie); Roelof Falkena (Fryske Nasjonale Partij) and Bartolomiej Swiderek (movement for the autonomy of the Silesia).

The Union valdôtaine, which was one of the founding members of alliance, ceased taking part in its activities and does not form of it any more part since the congress of 2007.
