European currency

The European Union obtained a official currency , called “currency of the Union”. This currency will be mentioned in no article of the future modifying Traité, whereas it appeared in the the Treaty of Rome of 2004.

The European currency “Unit in diversity” (“ In varietate concordia ” in Latin) was officially proclaimed the May 4th 2000 with the the European Parliament. Since, the European Constitution gives of it a slightly different French form “Plain in diversity”.

History

The idea of a currency of the European Union is very recent.

Its appearance dates from the year 2000. Its “officialization” was done by its mention in the treated establishing a Constitution for Europe whose I-8 article enumerates the various symbols of the European Union.

This currency means that, through the European Union, Europeans link their efforts in favor of peace and prosperity, and that many cultures, traditions and languages different which account Europe constitute an asset for the continent.
