European academy of Otzenhausen

The European Académie of Otzenhausen (“ Europäische Akademie Otzenhausen ” in allemand) is a center promoting and accommodating the meetings between Européens, according to the slogan:

“Europa entsteht durch Begegnung. ” ( the Europe is created by the meeting. )

In activity since about fifty years already, in the North of the Land of the Saar, the Academy is established on the commune of Nonnweiler.

Cycles of seminars and conferences bound for school, high-school pupils, students, associations, professionals and decision makers are proposed all the year in an environment sympathetic nerve, with equipment of point (cabins of translation), and within peaceful framework (buildings in skirt of forest).

Good number of training courses are punctuated by the visit of the seat of an organization European official, with Luxembourg, Strasbourg, for example. Institutions installed with Brussels being less attended by the trainees for simple reasons of distance.

The site

the four buildings, being drawn up on a slope timbered with the immediate variation of the village, are easily accessible by road and highway.

While arriving on the spot, from the village, the visitor has (on his left) the high modern building with 12 white faces, and (on its line) 2 lower whole and of more traditional architecture, with tiled roofs and with double slope. The existence of the building has (in yellow on the plan opposite) appears to him only when it advances more on the rising way.
