European House of photography
The European Maison of the Photographie (MEP) is an open center of exposure in February 1996, is located in the 4th district of Paris, in a Monument of the end of the 18th century, pertaining to the Town of Paris and mélant old architecture with new constructions. It shelters a library, a Auditorium and a video library. Its administration depends economically on the Town of Paris however the employees are not civils servant.
The collection of the MEP, dedicated to contemporary creation, has mainly photographs (silver and numerical) and vidéos (DVD of artists), as well as an important bibliography of approximately 22.000 books on photography (techniques and artists) including/understanding the first the international editions and republications, but also editions, as well as the editions little marketed private galerists, institutions, editors,…
