European Association of the zoos and the aquariums
The European Association of the zoos and the aquariums (or EAZA for European Association off Zoos and Aquaria , in English) is an association of zoo S and Aquarium S Européen S which aims to promote the co-operation between zoological gardens with an aim of preserving the Espèce S.
Created at the origin in 1988 between the countries of the European Community of the time, association acquired its true European statute in 1992, with the fall of the Berlin Wall, and became the EAZA.
It gathers today 297 members divided in 34 European Pays, like some members coming from countries bordering to the Europe, such as Israel, the Turkey, the Kuwait or the United Arab Emirates.
The EAZA enacts directives and a code of ethics for submission to its members, in particular concerning installations and the care to bring to the animals.
