European Association of Athletics
The European Association of athletics ( AEA , but generally in English European Athletic Association or EAA ) is the name of the continental federation, European, of Athlétisme, that which organizes the activities and the competitions of this sport at the European level (championships, cuts, authorized meetings known as EAA ).
It is one of the six regional federations (one by continent) of the International Association off Athletics Federations (IAAF).
The EAA is a non-governmental Organization European, one unlimited period, recorded in Suisse (since January 1st 2004, before in Germany). It gathers all the European national federations members of the IAAF. Only the federations recognized by the IAAF can belong to the EAA (after a decision of the congress of the EAA). Currently, the EAA includes/understands 50 members federations. Its seat is fixed at Lausanne (Swiss).
History
In 1932, at a meeting of the International federation of athletics amateur (IAAF) to Los Angeles, a special committee was instituted by the Council of the IAAF with for task organizing the Championnats of Europe of athletics. The Council IAAF, at its meeting with Berlin on September 24th, 1933, confirmed the nomination of the European committee, with Szilard Stankovits (HUN) as president. The first meeting of this committee was held with Budapest on January 7th, 1934 and the first championships of Europe were organized with Turin in 1934. The European committee was indicated by all the members of the IAAF at the time of its various congresses until in 1966, where, for the first time, he was elected only by the European members of the IAAF, by widening its competences little by little - by organizing the Coupe of Europe as from 1965.November 1st 1969, Association off the European Members off the IAAF (association of the European members of the IAAF) was made up at a meeting of the European committee with Bucharest. Its constitutive rules were confirmed by the Congress of the IAAF in Stockholm in August 1970 (statutes which came into effect at the time of the first congress of the EAA to Paris on November 7th 1970).

- authorized meetings ( allowed meeting ) level EAA.
