Europe 2 TV is a musical Television channel French commercial private.

History of the chain

This chain was created by the group Lagardere Active for TNT on the model of its music channel MCA which it already has on the cable and CanalSat. It was thus to be initially called iMCM and was debatisée in extremis to be presented under the name of Europe 2 TV at the time of its passage in front of the Superior council of audio-visual the, with the great surprise of its representatives; she was finally baptized thus, by capitalizing on the fame of the musical radio more known Europe 2 of the general public than MCA; But although bearing the same name, its musical leading line is completely different from its radio operator format.

July 17th, 2007, the Superior council of Audio-visual the (SCUMS) gave its agreement for the change of denomination of Europe 2 TV which will become Virgin 17 (the change should take place from here the end of the year 2007). The authorization is matched several conditions: the logo of the chain will not have to be confused with those of products or services which integrate in their denomination the mark Virgin and the prohibition of publicity for the Virgin group and of any reference to the Virgin products on the antenna.
