Europe-88 project

The project Europe 88 was born in 1999. It less calls upon step than 3 different programs: Harpoon3 for the air and sea war, The Operational Art off War (TOAW) for the terrestrial aspect and Steel Panthers MBT for the air support brought and air prohibition closer to the battle field.

Course of the project

It is appeared as a campaign putting at the catches NATO and the Warsaw Pact, divided into mini-battles (7 are envisaged at present, 2 were already solved). A battle proceeds out of turns, which start with Harpoon3 (more effective to model the speed of the action as regards air and sea war) and continues with TOAW for the movements of forces. The 2 have nevertheless a reciprocal influence: an attack of columns armor-plated by planes (carried out with H3) will result in reduced forces moving with TOAW . In the same way, a base captured by a camp (thanks to TOAW) will be operational with the turn following with H3.

Involved forces

All the forces present in Central Europe are modelled as well as the air forces and naval of NATO and the Warsaw Pact.

Many players

The mini-battles are played 2 teams. An ideal team would comprise 4 players at least (1-2 for the air operations, 1-2 for the forces on the ground, 1 for logistics and 1 for the information). To fit in one or the other of the camps, Harpooner' S Not Project Europe 88
