EuropaCorp

EuropaCorp is a French company of production and distribution of feature-length films of cinema which was created in September 2000 by Luc Besson and Pierre-Angel Pogam. It also diffuses its films in video (diffusion of DVD by the means of the Groupement d'Interet Economique " Fox Pathé Europa"). Moreover, the group manages the sales of televisual rights in France, like with the international one.

EuropaCorp has the statute of Public limit company to the capital of 5.236.000 euros, it is registered with the Trade register and of the companies of Paris and its Head office is located Rue of the Suburb Saint-Honore, with Paris, before moving within the Cité of the cinema, with Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis) whose Luc Besson is the initiator.

Organization of the company

The purpose of the EuropaCorp Group is the production of feature-length films, as well as international sale of the rights of exploitation and diffusion of films of its catalog.

  • Concerning EuropaCorp Japan: the distribution of films in Japan is done by the means of a joint venture (with the companies Kadokawa, Sumitomo, Asmik, Cinema/Mitsubishi Spoils).

  • Concerning EuropaCorp Distribution: with an aim of optimizing the diffusion in video of its productions, EuropaCorp also gathered within a GIE (Groupement d'Interet Economique) with the companies Fox and Pathé (FPE for Fox Pathé EuropaCorp).

The company made lately are going public, and with rassemnlé nearly 7.000 individual shareholders, raising nearly 70 million euros. What will make it possible to accelerate its growth, and to gradually double the budget of its films from 25 to 50 million euros.
