Eurocopter EC-725 Cougar

the Eurocopter AS-532 Cougar is a Hélicoptère of twin-turbine transport manufactured by Eurocopter. This helicopter is a version improved of the Puma (its civil equivalent is the Super Puma). Its cell perhaps in short or lengthened version. It can be motorized in two manners: that is to say the makila 1A or 1A1.

The civil name of this apparatus is AS332 L1 and AS332L2. As332L2 evolution of L1 being characterized by a principal rotor from sphériflex type and a rotor postpones sphériflex with 5 blades (4 for L1), a more powerful motorization (MAKILA 2A of 1573KW) and a more modern avionics, screens, autopilot navigation… As332L2 is very employed in the offshore oil rig field for the connections with the punts oil forms.

Version HUS

The HUS, for Hélicoptère of the special units should return in service in the current of the year 2008 within BFST.

Its autonomy should be increased since it will carry 3560 fuel L (in addition to one releasable tank auxiliary of 900 L which can be added in the axis of the apparatus to the back). It will have two machine-guns of 7,62 mm port, one on each side for its brought closer protection.

A system of 3 floats installed on the sides and with before makes it possible to ensure a null buoyancy in the event of ditching, leaving time to the crew to evacuate the machine and allowing even a towing of the helicopter at a speed of 4 Knots
