Eurobowl

The Eurobowl is a cut of Europe of American football putting at the catches the various national champions of the Old continent.

History

This competition disputes for the first time in the form of tournament in August 1986 with Amsterdam with eight committed teams. The eight clubs founders of this test are: Taft Vantaa (victorious, Finland), Doves of Bologna (finalist, Italy), Birmingham bulldozers (3rd, England), Amsterdam Rams (4th, Netherlands), Paris Jets (eliminated in France, quarterfinals), Lugano Seagulls (eliminated in Switzerland, quarterfinals), Salzburg Lions (eliminated in Austria, quarterfinals) and Ansbach Grizzlies (eliminated in Germany, quarterfinals). There no was edition 1987.

The competition

These denières seasons, the competition is held in two stages: a phase of regular season with four hens of three teams and a phase of play-offs with semi-finals and finale. Before the hen phase, some matches of qualification are held between the champions of the nations considered as weakest.

The season begins in March and is completed at the end of June or at the beginning of July.
