Eurasier

Eurasier is a German race creates in the Sixties ' by Mr. Julius Wipfel . The goal of this creation was to obtain dog of a Scandinavian type, intermediate size, with the attracting look, with a good adaptation to the various lifestyles (firm, suburbs, apartment) and having a stable character without aggressiveness.

By crossing of ChowChow males and females Spitz-Wolf (known in the Anglo-Saxon countries under the name of Keeshond) a first Wolf-Chow generation was creates. In the Seventies ', Mr. Wipfel crossed his Wolf-Chow females with a Samoyède male of the name of Cito von pol. in order to refine the look of the race and to stabilize the temperament of it.

The name Eurasier was selected to mark the bridge between the Asian races (ChowChow, Samoyède) and European (Spitz-Wolf) used in its creation.

The Eurasier race was recognized by the Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI) in 1973. In Canada, the race was recognized by the Canadian Canine Club (CKC) in 1995 and currently is not recognized yet by American Kennel Club (AKC).
