Eumène III of Pergame, more known under the name of Aristonicos
he is the hybrid second wire of Eumène II. With died of his/her half-brother Attale III which bequeaths its kingdom to Rome in 133 av. J. - C., Aristonicos asserts the royal capacity and refuses the dismantling of the kingdom of Pergame. It organizes a war of resistance against the application of the will of Attale: although not holding the large cities of the kingdom which join in Rome, it meets at the beginning some successes, but it is crushed in 129 av. J. - C. by the Consul Marcus Perperna with Stratonicée of Caïque.
Known only by the Roman sources which present it like a usurper and an adventurer, Aristonicos had in fact taken the name royal of Eumène III and beaten currency with its effigy as of 133 as a series of cistophores to its name attests it.
