Eugenie Doche

Eugenie Doche , born Marie-Charlotte-Eugenie de Plunkett, is a Belgian actress born with Brussels on November 19th 1821 and died in Paris the July 13rd 1900.

Exit of a middle-class family of Irish origin , it begins with Versailles in 1837 then passes to the Vaudeville where it appears under the name of Eugenie Fleury in Renaudin of Caen . After the destruction of the theater by a fire, it starts a round in province then reinstates the new room of the Light comedy, whose it marries the leader, Mr. Doche, in January 1839.

Its beauty constituting - according to its contemporaries - its only talent, it forges a reputation of " quickly; lionne" and separates from his/her husband in 1842, whereas it carries out a round in Russia. After a short passage to the Gymnasium in 1843, it finds the Light comedy where its roles start to be packed. With the annual closure of the theater in 1848, it starts a round in Switzerland, England and Belgium, at the court of which it approaches the role of Adrienne Lecouvreur, celebrates actress (and courtesan) French XVIII° century, in the part of Eugene Scribe.

His/her brother, Francis de Plunkett, was director inter alia Théâtre of the Palais Royal and Eden. His/her sister married the editor Paul Dalloz, director of the universal Moniteur .
