Eugene Izotov

Eugene Izotov is a hautboïste of international repute born in Russia in 1973.

Biography

Eugene Izotov begins his musical studies with old of six years to the Gnesin School of Moscow.

He occurred gradually in Europe, Asia and North America appearing in the festivals of music of Sarasota, Hampden-Sydney, Bowdoin, and Tanglewood until obtaining the price of the best interpreter in 1995. Izotov also received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2001 at the university of music of Boston where he studied with Ralph Gomberg.

Eugene Izotov teaches with the Université DePaul and Roosevelt. He taught previously with the Juilliard School and the academy of music of San Francisco. Occasionally, it directs masterclass in the various academies of the United States but also with the New World Symphony , the university of Boston, the music school of Manhattan, the academy of San Francisco, the university of the Michigan, the University of California, Berkeley, with the Mannes College, and finally with the Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI).

In 2003, on invitation of the Master James Levine, Eugene Izotov integrates the unit into winds of the Festival of Verbier in Suisse. Since 2005, it continues to be used international faculty at the time of the festival of music of the Pacific of Sapporo for the Japan.

In 2005, Eugene Izotov saw himself entrusting the station of first oboe of the Symphony orchestra of Chicago by Daniel Barenboïm, becoming thus the Russian first hautboïste to obtain this title among all the American symphony orchestras.

Eugene Izotov had played previously first oboe with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestrated , first assistant oboe of the Symphony orchestra of San Francisco, like first oboe of the orchestra shymponic of Kansas City, but he also played like first oboe with the Symphony orchestra of Boston, the Philharmonic orchestra of Los Angeles, and finally with the symphony orchestra of the new world .

Eugene Izotov gained the first Price of the international contest of the soloists Fernand Gillet in 2001. He was also prize winner of the international contest of the soloists in 1995 in New York, prize winner of the contest of the wind instruments of Russia in 1991, and prize winner of the international contest New Names in 1991.

This hautboïste also played as soloist with the symphony orchestra of Chicago, Boston Pops, the symphonic one of Kansas City, the American Orchestra of the Armies, and the symphony orchestra of San Francisco by interpreting works of Mozart, Strauss, Marcello, Krommer, Hummel and Bach.

From 2002 to 2006, Eugene Izotov plays regularly with the chamber orchestra MET at the time of his series in annual concerts to the Carnegie Hall under the direction of James Levine.
