Eugene Christmas

Eugene Christmas : born with Rouen in 1816, and deceased with Wood-Guillaume in 1899, is a Norman writer .

He was journalist with the Journal of Rouen , ancestor of Paris-Normandy , writing there sometimes under the pseudonym of Jean Labèche, and librarian of the town of Rouen of 1879 to 1898. Conservative of the Public library, author between-others of the Leisures of the Father Labêche . Cantor of ecology, it counted among his friends the historian Jules Michelet and the geographer Elisee Reclus. In 1905, its bust was inaugurated in the Botanical garden of Rouen.
