Eugene Cernan
Eugene Andrew Cernan known as Gene Cernan (born the March 14th 1934) is old a American Astronaute .
Biography
Of Slovak origin , it was born with Chicago, Illinois and grows with Maywood (Illinois). It is graduate Université Purdue, where it joined fraternity Phi Gamma Delta in 1956. It entered the Navy where it became pilot. It left NASA in 1976.
Flights carried out
It was three times in the espace :- as copilot of Gemini 9 has in June 1966;
- as pilot of the lunar module Apollo 10 in May 1969 ;
- as commander of the mission Apollo 17 in December 1972, where he was the eleventh man to press the lunar ground.
He was also reservist of the missions Gemini 12, Apollo 7 and Apollo 14.

He is the author of Last Man one the Moon, his memories of the Apollo flights.
