Eudore Pirmez

Eudore Pirmez (Marcinelle, September 14th 1830 - Saint-Gilles, March 2nd 1890) is a politician and a Belgian industrialist , of doctrinary liberal tendency. He is the nephew of Jean Pirmez (1795 - 1864), lawyer, burgomaster of Châtelineau and member of the National congress.

In 1863, it founds with Couillet with Ernest and Albert Solvay the Société Solvay & Compagnie. He was also administrator of the Charbonnage of the Hope (Seraing) and of the Vieille Mountain (starting from 1879).

He was elected appointed district of Charleroi. He sat like deputy of 1857 with 1890. In 1864, Léopold I {{er}} proposed to him to form a government, but he refused. In 1866, it fought a bill of Jules Bara, which abrogeait the prohibition of the coalitions (either of the Syndicat S). In 1867, it fought another bill of Jules Bara, who abrogeait article 1781 of the civil code (article which stipulated that the owner was believed on word with regard to the payment of his workmen). Later (in 1869), it combatit still the prohibition of the Work the children. Between 1868 and 1870, he is Minister of Interior Department in the government of Brother-Orban. At this station, in 1869, it filed in a bill making optional the Livret of workman. It then had to face some critical following the repression of the strike of the workers of Cockerill. In 1879, as a deputy, it abstains from in at the time of the vote of the “law of misfortune”, which will start the school Guerre and moved away from the liberal party. In 1884, it was named minister of state.

He was doctor in right. He was director of the national Banque of Belgium, president of the Observatory of Uccle, president of the Superior council of Congo and burgomaster of Marchienne-with-Bridge. He was also violonist and astronomer.
