Etymologicum genuinum

The Etymologicum genuinum is a written grammatical encyclopedia with Constantinople at the 9th century, which borrows its material from Choiroboskos, Hérodien, Méthode, Orion, Oros, Theognostos.

It owes its name with the editor of 19th century R. Reitzenstein. The preserved manuscripts do not give a full version of the work. Posterior works using same material that are the Etymologicum magnum and the Etymologicum Symeonis are often more complete.
