Etiology

In Medicine, the etiology is the study of the Cause S and the factors of a Pathologie.

The etiology defines the origin of a pathology according to the semiological demonstrations.

Origin of the term

The etiology (Greek αιτιολογία , of αιτία, ätía - the cause and λόγος, lógos - the study ) relates to a philosophical School of the Antiquité which was interested in the study of the Cause S.

One speaks about Conte etiologic when the purpose of a history is to give an explanation coloured to a phenomenon or a situation which one does not control the origin. Example: Pourquoi the dogs love don't the cats?
