Etienne de Bar
Etienne de Bar , died with Metz the December 29th 1162, was bishop of Metz of 1120 with 1162. It was wire of Thierry II, count de Bar and of Ermentrude of Burgundy.
Intended for the church, it was raised by his maternal uncle Guy of Burgundy, archbishop of Vienna. He was elected princely of Toul in 1107. In 1119, Guy of Burgundy east elected Pope under the name of Calixte II. It does it bishop of Metz in 1121. The Querelle of the Nominations temporarily prevents it from taking possession of its diocese, and he will be crowned only in 1122, after the Concordat of Worms. He occupied his episcopate to reconstitute the temporal one of his diocese and founded several churches and monasteries, of which the Abbaye Notre-Dame d' Autrey.
He took part in the Second crusade with his brother, the count Renaud Ier de Bar.
