Etienne Mougeotte

Etienne Mougeotte (born on March 1st, 1940 with Rochefoucauld) is a French journalist. August 6th, 2007, it leaves its station of Vice-président Groupe TF1 and of Directeur of antenna of the French chain TF1 which it occupied since the privatization of the general channel in 1987 to take the direction of the drafting of the Figaro Magazine .

Biography

Etienne Mougeotte is graduate Institut of political studies of Paris, after a hypokhâgne with the Lycée Henri-Iv with Paris. He supplemented his training of journalist to the French Institut of press, always in Paris. During its studies, he was vice-president of UNEF, one of the most important student trade unions.

Etienne Mougeotte began his career with the daily newspaper Paris-Normandy before quickly joining France Inter in 1967, like Reporter then correspondent to Beirut. He then briefly works with Europe 1, as presenter of the newspapers, after May 1968. In 1969, it joined ORTF, as assistant editor association of the newspaper of the first chain. Of 1972 with 1973, it works for RTL, before returning to Europe 1 in 1974 where he becomes editor association then director of information until in 1981.

Starting from 1981, it deals with the Médias pole within the group Matra - Hachette directed by Jean-Luc Lagardere. He becomes editor association of the Sunday newspaper then of Télé 7 Days of 1984 with 1987, the two weekly magazines being subsidiary companies of the group.

In 1987, Etienne Mougeotte enters to TF1 which has just bought the group Bouygues (the Lagardere group, in which he worked, had also tried to him to buy the first chain). He quickly becomes the vice-president of the Groupe TF1 and the director of antenna of the chain TF1. He is also president of LCI, the chain of information uninterrupted of group TF1, since the creation of the chain in 1994. Besides he will launch itself the chain the June 24th 1994 to 20:30 since the newspaper of 20:00 of Claire Chazal on TF1 of which he was the guest. Lastly, since 2006, he is vice-president and member of the board of trustees of the chain of international information France 24, held with equal share with France Television.

Etienne Mougeotte announced at the beginning of April 2007 that it would leave his functions with TF1 with the end of the year 2007 to become consulting in communication. August 6th, 2007, it leaves TF1 to join starting from August 20th, 2007 Le Figaro Magazine , supplement Hebdomadaire of the daily newspaper Le Figaro . Etienne Mougeotte however preserves his function of adviser near Nonce Paolini, named in May 2007 managing director of group TF1.

In addition, Etienne Mougeotte is currently professor within the school of journalism of Sciences Po Paris.
