Etienne Hulot baron de Mazerny (born the February 15th 1774 with Mazerny (the Ardennes) - Nancy September 23rd 1850), military French.

It entered to the service in 1793, at the time of the first requisition and was attached to a battalion of hunters. It was named second lieutenant on the field of Bataille of Altkirchen. With Zurich and in all the combat delivered to Souvarow, one saw it aide-de-camp of the general Soult with the Combat of Monteneto; he sprang with the brother of Soult to tear off hands of the enemy this general who had just been reversed of a shot, and there remained prisoner; but it was exchanged after the Bataille of Marengo and was named captain assistance-of-camp of the same general. After the businesses of Ulm it was promoted with the rank of major and ordered the riflemen of the Po. It was with all the combat of this time and was distinguished everywhere, especially with Austerlitz, where, in spite of a serious wound, it left the battle field only after the victory. Also it on this occasion accepted the cross of officer of the Légion of honor.

The February 7th 1807, it had the leg crashed to pieces by forcing the bridge of Preussisch-Eylau. It was named colonel in 1808 and made the Guerre of Spain in 1811 in the capacity as first assistance-of-camp of the Soult marshal. With the Battle of Gebora, colonel Hulot and the major Tholosé threatened several Spanish battalions to make them saber by the cavalry, if they did not go at once, and they went.

Brigadier general the August 9th 1812, it ordered the avant-garde of the 4th body in Germany; it gave in the Campagne of 1813 of the repeated evidence of intelligence and bravery. Twice it saved the luggage and artillery of the army by its incredible activity, with Interbeck and Hanau. The Emperor rewarded it by appointing it baron and commander for the Legion for honor.

The Restauration did it Chevalier of Saint-Louis and the department of the Meuse entrusted to him.

During the Hundred Days it was attached to the 4th body, ordered by Gerard. With the Bataille of Ligny it was defended against quadruple forces and fought one of the last under the walls of Paris.

Put in non-activity, the marshal Gouvion-Saint-Cyr named it in 1819 inspector of infantry, and general inspector in 1821.

He is large Officer of the Legion of Honor and Major general to the promotion of the February 27th 1831.

He offered his services in 1829 to the army of Ibrahim Pasha. Its name is reproduced on the Triumphal arch of the Star of Paris.
