Etienne Gailly
Etienne Gailly , (born the November 26th 1922 - died the October 21st 1971) was a Belgian athlete specialist in the marathon.
The principal feat of arms of this Lieutenant Parachutiste is his third place in the marathon of the Jeux of London. This medal nevertheless was obtained after a terrible final disillusion because at the head at the entry of the stage, it was victim of a faintness and was made double by the Argentin Delfo Cabrera, future winner, and the Britannique Tom Richards.
It could not take part in the Jeux of Helsinki because of its engagement in the Guerre of Korea during which it went on a mine what put an end to its sporting career.
