Etienne François Room of Cabbage (1754 - † 1832), politician and magistrate French.

It was born on March 9th 1754 in the district Saint Pierre the Market from Bourges, baptized on March 14th, and made solids studies at the school Sainte Marie of Bourges, then with the Faculty of Law obtaining to 20 years a diploma for the occupation of doctor in right to be named in December 1776 adviser and lawyer of the king.

It Marie at 23 years with Marie Pelagie Maigreau and receives the Cabbage properties.

At 32 years, it is named law professor at the university of Bourges and takes part in the drafting of the register of grievances. March 27th, 1789, he is elected appointed Tiers state of the Berry for the General states and goes up to Paris. He is among the signatories of the Serment of Jeu de Paume on June 20th, 1789, and on July 17th, escorts the king in Paris. With the autumn 1789, he is a very active deputy, entering to the Ecclésiastique committee, proposes a reform of gabelles and especially proposes a cutting of Berry in 2 departments. This fundamental text will end in February 1790 in the organization of the two departments of the Cher and the Indre.

It continues its action during this difficult period, protesting for example in January 1791 against the Civil Constitution of the Clergy, it makes short stays in Bourges then, then returns in its birthplace in September 1791.

Threatened by the Terror, in 1793, it takes refuge in waiting Chavignol of the better days and returns to Bourges about 1795 becoming President of the civil court of Expensive. Then begin a career in highest level of the local magistrature, becoming President of the Court of Appeal of Bourges, and named member of the Légion of honor in 1804.

That leads in 1810 to its nomination as baron of Empire, it is then designated as 1st President of the imperial court of Bourges. It belongs to the delegation of deputies of Expensive which from there will compliment the Emperor in March 1812.

Under the Restoration, it is maintained with presidency of the Court of Appeal of Bourges, then named Conseiller State and on November 30th, 1816, he is member of the General advice of Expensive, and confirmed in the title of baron.

In 1824, on August 21st, it is named President of the General advice of the Cher.

It takes its retirement at the 76 years age, and dies two years later with Bourges on December 29th, 1832.
