Ethnism
Ethnisme is not in the current dictionaries. It is not either on that of the French Academy This term has several directions:
-
the ethnism is a theory Politique which recognizes the existence of languages and different cultures. It is based on the concept of Ethnie. It notes the situations of oppression of some Langue S and some Cultures by others, tries to better make known them and advances solutions for the résoudre.
With regard to the regional languages, the problem is obviously to arbitrate between the wish to perpetuate a certain knowledge of it and the needs for having languages common to the greatest number: the correct knowledge of a language requires thousand work hours a minimum personal investment without counting that of the teacher.
-
the ethnism (or Ethnicisme ) expresses also the inappropriate use of the concept of Ethnie to explain the problems of a population. One speaks for example about the Ethnisme in Rwanda, to say that one there used without base the concept of Ethnie, by ideological concern .
In many countries, ethnic left are represented in the national parliaments and various other elected assemblies, for oldest since the end of the 19th century. They are parties aiming at representing, in a given political entity, the interests of an ethnic minority or of several (Südschleswigscher Wählerverband of the Danes and Frisons of Germany), or minorities similar, like the Intouchable S or lower castes in India, in the same way that, to their beginnings, the socialist parties aimed at representing the interests of the Working class.
These ethnic parties, and not " ethnistes" or " ethnicistes" , are sometimes affiliated with international, in particular liberal one (Mouvement of the rights and freedoms of the Turks of Bulgaria, Svenska Folkpartiet of the Swedes of Finland) and Socialist (Social Democratic and Labor Party of the catholic Irishmen of Northern Ireland, Jewish Labor Bund).
