Eternity (novel)
Eternity (original title: Eternity ) is a Romance of Science-fiction of Greg Bear published in 1988. It is the second volume of a trilogy which includes/understands also Éon and Héritage .
History
While the world is gently raised of a nuclear Guerre, the Astéroïde of the preceding volume is always in orbit around the Earth, but the Voie , this passage towards parallel universes, has been closed again there for several decades. The question arises from now on of knowing if the moment not had not just reopened this passage, more especially as a mysterious envoy come from a future distance comes to ask reopening and for the destruction of it.In addition, one of heroin of volume preceding, Patricia Vasquez (the mathematician whose theoretical work is at the origin of the creation of the Voie ), remained wedged in a parallel Univers, a Ground on which the empire of Alexandre large the survived its founder, managed to prevent the appearance of the Roman Empire and still remains nearly 2400 years after its foundation. After having tried to join her universe of origin during all her life, Patricia Vasquez transmits the torch to Rhita, her little girl, who inherited her gifts of mathematician. Rhita thus goes to Alexandria to convince the empress who reigns on the Empire of Alexandre to assemble a forwarding having for goal to find a passage towards the Voie .
