Synopsis
A Soviet dignitary is questioned by the CIA. on its Soviet activity with Cuba. Nordstrom (John Forsythe), an agent of the C.I.A. finds his/her French colleague, André Devereaux (Frederick Stafford). Andre is accompanied by his wife Nicole (Dany Robin), as well as his Michele girl (Claude Jade) and of his son-in-law, François Picard (Michel Subor), who are in honeymoon. The family meeting in New York is blocked by the action of Andre and an Inhabitant of Martinique (Roscoe Lee Browne) to the hotel of Harlem where resides the cuban délégaon. Nicole reproaches her husband for having a cuban mistress, Juanita (Karin Dor), which it will find in Havana. She is the mistress of Rico Parra (John Vernon) which ends up uncovering Juanita. She is killed by Parra. On his return, André learns that certain French belong to the organization pro-Soviet “Topaz”. Their chief is called “Colombine” and the economist Henri Jarré (Philippe Noiret) would form part of it. Michele wants to reconcile her parents and accompanies André with a cocktail in Jacques Granville (Michel Piccoli), former comrade in resistance and lover of Nicole. Andre charges Francois, who is journalist, with questioning Jarré. Á the search for Francois, Andre and Michele climb at Jarré; the landing door of the apartment remained half-opened. Opened window, Michele sees a corpse falling on the roof from a car parked in the course and she is persuaded that it is about her husband. Shivers… Andre and Michele descend the staircase. In the course, they discover unhappy Jarré. Michele is with end of forces, François disappeared… At the time when it finds in the arms of Michele, Nicole makes a consent: “Colombine” is his/her lover Jacques Granville…
