Estradasphere

Estradasphere is a group independent of music multi-kind of Santa Cruz in California. The collective sweeps a multitude of musical genres, mainly the music gypsy, the metal, the progressive Rock and the music of Video games. The name of the group is a homage to Erik Estrada, an American actor, mainly known to have played in the series CHiPs.

The group turned much to North America, in particular in first part of the group Secret Chiefs 3, which includes or included certain members of Estradasphere.

Initially lodged by the label Web off Mimicry of Trey Spruance, the group signed at The End Records.

Their first album, It' S understood , contains primarily pieces of music gypsy mingled with metal, intersected with musics pointing out the video games of beginning of the year 90. The group opens with other kinds in their second album, Buck Fever (a Contrepèterie salace): parodies Beach Boys, music old New, Black metal, while keeping the elements which appeared in the first album. The group practically records a third album in the original formation, before artistic disagreements obliges it to change half of these members. The saxophone of the very charismatic John Whooley is replaced by an accordion and a Shamisen.

The fourth album studio, De luxe hotel off Mirrors , and the first at The End Records, left in September 2006 with a group renewed half. The last opus of Estradasphere shows a greater artistic maturity: it more coherent, and is made use of sections of coppers, choruses and string quartets. The jazz rock'n'roll gypsy approaches more and more the progressive Rock.
