Estivada

The Estivada (word Occitan which decides estib' a' C) of Rodez is a Festival whose topic is the culture occitane It will be held from July 18th to 21st 2007.

It is one of the events having the most success on Rodez (approximately 40000 spectators). It gathers the 7 areas of the South of France (the Midday-Pyrenees, Languedoc-Roussillon, Aquitaine, PACA, Auvergne, the Limousin, the Rhone-Alps) and three countries (France, Italy, Spain);

The festival takes place mainly with the public garden (with some steps of the cathedral) but also at other places of the city. It is called also " the village". It is composed of different " scènes" (imatge, convivencia, Castanhada, Contaire, Revolum.). Thus, each day of the festival, one finds concerts, tales, films, exposures.

This year, the language of Oil (language of the North of France) will be with the honor and it will be there also question of the importance of the ovalie in occitanie at the time of the world cup of Rugby to come.
