The commune is crossed by the Auronce (affluent of the Gave d' Oloron) and by the brook the Baylongue, affluent of the Baysère, which is thrown after 20,4 km of course in the Bayse, an affluent of the Gave of Pau.

The toponym Estialescq appears in the forms Estheles (1383, contract of Luntz), Esquialest and Estielesc (respectively 1385 and XIVe century, censier of Béarn), Esquielest (1399, contracts of Gots), Estialesc (1405, notaries of Navarrenx), Istaliecxs and Estyalescxs (respectively 1546 and 1548, reformation of Béarn), Sanctus Vincentius d' Estialescq (1612, insinuations of the diocese of Oloron).

History

In 1385, Estialescq counted 37 fires and depended on the Bailliage of Oloron.
