Work discussed on the anti-semitism and the extreme line in Quebec

Very discussed, its thesis of Doctorate entitled the Traitor and the Jew (title of publication in volume) caused a vast media debate in 1993 before even as it is not officially sanctioned by the university. Information initially was relayed by the magazine the topicality .

Delisle published a black list of supposed “fascistic Québécois” which would have been written by the American Consul of Quebec. In addition to Lionel Groulx, this list includes Olivar Asselin, Victor Barbeau, Hermas Bastien, Paul Bouchard, Rene Chaloult, Oscar Drouin, Paul Gouin and Philippe Hamel.

In the wake of this business, the essay writer also required that the subway station Lionel-Groulx be re-elected not to leave a heritage Antisémite at the town of Montreal.

Its analyzes on the person of Groulx were moderated, even very criticized. Indeed, several Québécois historians consider that the character ultra Nationaliste of the famous canon was only one aspect of its complex personality. The association of Groulx to Fascism was somewhat hasty and not very moderate. Thus, Irving Abella, Pierre Anctil, Gerard Bouchard, Gary Caldwell, Luc Chartrand, Rene Durocher, Jacques Langlais and Jean-François Nadeau addressed counterparts to Esther Delisle.

Through its research, Delisle also showed the influence which the newspaper had the Duty on the Extreme-right-hand side of the time. She concludes from it that the leader " fasciste" Adrien Arcand did not have almost any support at the elites Nationaliste S.

Work of Esther Delisle and those of Mason Wade were used during the Nineties by the writer Mordechai Richler, which nourished a Polémique on the Tabou S of the Québécois company.
