Estaca is a song composed by the singer Lluís Llach in 1968.
“ Estaca ” means “French pile”. In fact the name of the French version of the song is the Pile
It was translated into many languages. Composed during the dictatorship of the General Free in Spain, it is a cry with the unit of action to release itself from oppression, to reach freedom. Initially symbol of the fight against pro-Franco oppression in Catalonia, it became a symbol of the fight for freedom.
The Polish trade union Solidarność adopts it in its Polish version, Mury , like its anthem, and it was selected like the semi-official anthem of the club of Rugby of Perpignan, USAP, in its Catalan version.
Zebda took it again in 1998, in its collection of revolutionary songs Motivés .
