Seven months after the death of the prince Rainier III of Monaco, the ceremonies of establishment of its successor, his son the prince Albert II, began the Thursday November 17th 2005 in the principality.

The 17, it received like wants it the tradition, the homage of the large body of State of the principality in particular Jean-Paul Proust, minister of state.

The Saturday November 19th last day of establishment takes place a pontifical mass in the presence of the prince, of his family and the representatives of about fifteen foreign delegations, the national feastday Monegasque.

All the foreign representatives arrived Friday November 18th, except for the French Minister for Justice Pascal Clément, made the 19 morning. Contrary to the funeral of Rainier III, the April 15th, to which had taken share about thirty delegations of which several monarchs in exercise, no crowned head attends the festivities, the sovereigns having often delegated crown princes.

Approximately 800 people attended 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. 25 (hour of Paris) the religious ceremony in the cathedral Saint-Charles.

The archbishop of Monaco, Mgr Bernard Barsi, celebrates the mass. The prince Albert II must then make an appearance with the balcony of the palate, a tradition respected by all the sovereigns at the time of the national festival Monegasque. Some 3.000 people, only of the residents and the citizens Monegasques, are awaited in front of the palate.

The festivities will continue with an official lunch in the throne room of the palate, before the match of League 1 of football, at the stage Louis II, between Monaco and Saint-Etienne. One gala evening with the representation of the opera " The voyage in Reims" of Rossini, in the Garnier room renovated of the Opera of Monte Carlo, the final stage of these festivities will enclose.
